Early Life and Education

Hillary Clinton was born Hillary Diane Rodham in Chicago, Illinois, on October 26, 1947. She was the daughter of Dorothy Emma Howell Rodham and Hugh Rodham. Clinton graduated from Wellesley College in 1969 and Yale Law School in 1973. She met Bill Clinton while attending law school, and they married in 1975.

Early Career

After graduating from law school, Clinton worked for the Children's Defense Fund and the Watergate Special Prosecution Force. In 1975, she was elected to the Arkansas House of Representatives, where she served until 1979. In 1979, her husband was elected Governor of Arkansas, and she served as Arkansas's First Lady until 1981.

First Lady of the United States

In 1992, Bill Clinton was elected President of the United States, and Hillary Clinton became the First Lady. She was actively involved in her husband's administration, and she chaired the President's Task Force on National Health Reform. In 2000, she ran for the U.S. Senate and won, becoming the first woman to represent New York in the Senate.

Secretary of State

In 2008, Hillary Clinton was appointed Secretary of State by President Barack Obama. She served in this role until 2013. During her tenure as Secretary of State, she played a key role in the U.S. response to the Arab Spring and the Iranian nuclear program. She also worked to strengthen ties with allies and partners around the world.

Presidential Campaign

In 2015, Clinton announced her candidacy for President of the United States. She won the Democratic nomination, but lost the general election to Donald Trump. Clinton remains active in politics and is a vocal critic of the Trump administration.
