The BelSevens Take the Bronze in Croatia

The BelSevens took home the bronze medal at the Croatia Sevens tournament this past weekend. The team defeated the Netherlands in the third-place match 24-19. This is the first time that the BelSevens have medaled at a major international sevens tournament.
The BelSevens had a strong tournament, going 3-1 in pool play. They defeated Croatia, Moldova, and Latvia, and their only loss came against the eventual tournament champions, France.
In the quarterfinals, the BelSevens defeated Germany 26-19. They then faced France in the semifinals, but they were defeated 21-7.
The BelSevens will now turn their attention to the Rugby Europe Sevens Grand Prix Series. The team will compete in three tournaments in the series, with the goal of qualifying for the Rugby World Cup Sevens in 2023.
